Ok, it should be an unwritten rule that nu-metal writers should not be
allowed to write metal songs. What happened to the screaming guitars of
yesteryear?
Why does everything have to be dark, heavy sludeg? Don't get me wrong, dark, heavy sludge works with alot of bands and it sounds good but not with the legendary Ozzy and not with Zakk Wylde on guitar. You can tell that Zakk did not have alot of artistic input or this would've been along the lines of “No Rest for the Wicked“. First, I really could've done with without the first track that their using as a single and playing all over the damn place, “Gets Me Through“ and you can tell Ozzy is trying waaaaaaaay to hard to sound like John Lennon on the third track “Dreamer“. But there are some promising tracks on here like “Facing Hell“ and “That I Never Had“ and “No Easy Way Out“ which will restore faith in old-time Ozzy fans everywhere. All in all this is a decent metal album and I would recommend that you at lets go out and give Ozzy a chance. |
