DRAGTOWN |
REVIEW: |
As the third and third chapter to his rock morality series, Alice Cooper describes this album as “life's pure failures“ but Dragontown is not a failure and it's definitely not a disappointment. |
Bringing back producer Bob Marlett, who also contributes as
co-songwriter/keyboardist/bassist and guitarist, this album is even darker
than it's predecessor “Brutal Planet“. While there aren't any anthems
along the lines of “Eighteen“ and “No Mr. Nice Guy“ “Mr. Fantasy does come
close with lyrics such as “I don't read books/ I don't French cook or
stroll around in galleries/ I hate opera/ I hate Oprah/ don't fill my head
with poetry“. He also serves up a nice imitation of Elvis Presley with
“Disgrace |
The lyrics are quite dark and bordering on depressic but Cooper's music will make you bang your head like the best metal should. |
