SLAYER

GOD HATES US ALL

REVIEW:

It's been too long since Slayer has graced us with their metal presence but after hearing “God Hates Us All“, I'd say it was worth the wait. Tom Araya is back and he's fuckin pissed off, track # 13 “Payback“ gives a very good example of that with lyrics such as:
For my own peace of mind, I'm going to tear your fucking eyes out, rip your fucking flesh off, beat you till you're just a fucking lifeless carcass. Fuck you and your progress, watch me regress, you were made to take the fall and now you're nothing. Payback's a bitch motherfucker“.

Tom definately raised the bar on his singing abilities and his lyrics. Old school listeners might be thrown off by some actual real singing on a couple of the songs and also some black-metal harmonies and digital effects but it does fit. King and Hanneman brought in some new ideas to the sound but kept that classic elements that can be heard on prior albums. I'd put this right up there with Seasons in the Abyss and South of Heaven. I can't describe enough how dark and pissed off this album is, you're going to have to go out and get it yourself.
