This was the first time DEADFILSTAR played at The Campbell so they weren't sure what to expect as The Campbell usually attracts a different crowd.

We don't know how the band thought the gig went, but we enjoyed it immensely.  When we walked into the venue we saw a lot of DEADFILMSTAR t-shirts being worn, we knew they were a good band because personally we love their music but we didn't realise there was such a following locally.

As soon as DEADFILMSTAR hit the stage there was a bunch of guys who starting dancing / moshing straight away while others sang along.  The atmosphere was great and we personally believe that this was the best gig they've done as DEADFILMSTAR not just because of the songs, but because of the venue.

What made this gig different from the previous gigs is that this time round they had more material to play and DEADFILMSTAR seem to get better and better each time they play anyway.

The night being October 30th (the night before Halloween) gave the band a chance to play around with the theme a bit.  Face painting, tarot readers, free sweeties and plenty of smoke coming from the machine added to the whole atmosphere a hell of a lot more.

And of course, what would a DEADFILMSTAR gig be without 'Filmstar' being played as locally their cover of this Suede song is very popular.  We love it but we also loved 'Mommies Little Fucked Up Star', don't remember hearing it before but its a very very exciting new sound and a song which we think will grow on us.

Look out for DEADFILMSTAR and make sure go see them live.
